Questify

AI-driven animations, treasure hunts and educational game kits bringing the Palace of Culture in Iași to life for the young generation.

AI animation design · Character & game kit design · Behavioural research · Campaign & social strategy

To tackle the challenge of low PISA scores in Romania, Questify envisioned a project where learning feels like fun. Their mission was simple yet ambitious: gamify education for children and teens. By partnering with the renown Palace of Culture in Iași, they sought to unlock the museum’s full potential, turning its rich history into a playground for modern discovery.

AI Art in the museum

Inspired by successful digital art concepts from abroad, I assisted the client in designing and developing AI-driven animations. We noticed a growing fascination with emerging tech among Romanian youth, so we decided to give the museum’s paintings a creative edge to draw them in. Using tools like Ideogram and OpenArt, we transformed famous gallery pieces into animations that visitors could "unlock" via QR codes.

The project was a hit: it boosted attendance and even caught the eye of national news. Beyond the design, I also advised on the promotional strategy, helping the client navigate social media and press releases.

Muzquest Educational Playing Kits

My work with Questify continues with Muzquest, a project that builds on our "learning through play" philosophy. It’s an AI-powered treasure hunt set throughout the palace and its museums. We’ve kept the experience engaging and accessible, but the puzzles contain tasks that encourage visitors to sharpen their observation skills and think critically.

My role on this project involved a bit more heavy lifting. I focused on the "why" behind the design, conducting behavioural analysis of the Romanian youth to figure out which characters and game formats would best click with them. This approach helped us pick the right color schemes, games and visuals to make the experience as appealing as possible.

To keep things fun, we created a series of quirky AI characters to guide players through the palace. We mixed our analysis for the color scheme with colours from the Palace of Culture’s branding, using deep blues, greens, and golds to keep the aesthetic cohesive. Each game kit feels like a real adventure, packed with things like decoders and secret letters that follow complex plots based on Romanian history. One key recommendation I made was adding a prize system. I noticed that younger players stay more engaged when the reward is more tangible than just the learning opportunity in itself, so we introduced collectible cards and reached out to local cinemas and restaurants for prize vouchers to keep the motivation high.

I am currently supporting them to uplift their social media to gain more visibility and appeal amongst the youth and come up with additional campaign ideas. To drive this growth, I’ve been diving into learning Meta ads and setting up A/B testing framework to see exactly which ad creatives and messaging hooks get the best response from our audience. We’re also exploring a summer camp for the kids in the city, alongside big treasure hunt events in the Palace. The project is still in progress and constantly changing following up testing sessions.

I am deeply grateful for my journey with Questify. It’s been a masterclass in modern project development. I’ve moved beyond just having ideas to practicing grounded market research and learning the importance of objectivity when analysing consumer behavior. I also had the chance to dive into the world of AI design, mastering tools like OpenArt, Ideogram, Canva and PicsArt Pro to create something truly unique. This experience gave me a front-row seat to business strategy, seeing firsthand how a company adapts to challenges in real-time. Finally, it taught me the art of efficient communication: the patience to listen, the flexibility to go back to the drawing board, and the importance of evolving alongside the client’s expectations.
